Pre-Existing Condition

A pre-existing condition is an ailment or illness where, in the opinion of a medical practitioner, the signs or symptoms existed at any time during the six months before the day which a member joins private health insurance or upgrades to a higher level of cover.

Pre-existing conditions have a waiting period of 12 months before hospital and major ancillary benefits will be paid on treatment relating to the condition.
